Days like this make us incredibly proud and a little emotional. Watching the vision come together is something special. Huge credit to project managers Johnny and Cody, our designers Tim, Craig, Claude & co, and the rest of the our team who made sure the fit was absolutely perfect and the quality is 💯
This boat is truly one of a kind. Built mainly from carbon fibre, featuring four lifting points, a towing eye, and an extremely innovative hull design specifically for chasing billfish fast!
Too cool not to share this footage from @charliefinnrowe of a recent trip on the NorthCape Custom 43, this trip included hand feeding multiple striped marlin on the first wave! Unreal fishing off the West Cost of New Zealand 🔥 ... See MoreSee Less

🎣🔥 Thought I’d share how well the TimeZero and Ocean-O went on the weekend! We’ve set up this system, thanks to Furuno New Zealand, to run through our Garmin screens, and honestly, it’s such an impressive setup. It helped us narrow things down to where the fish might be. This is just a small glimpse of what this system can do. If you want a more detailed look check out the video link below.
If we allow the commercial sale of marlin in New Zealand, we threaten the future of an entire fishery and everything it represents. We owe it to our kids, and their kids, to fight for this now.
Right now as it stands, any Marlin dead or alive caught commercially has to be cut free. Under the proposed law change, those marlin will be worth big money and they will be hunted in numbers. Just like what happened with Swordfish when the commercial guys started setting their gear differently to increase by-catch and New Zealand sold out of light sticks overnight.
We all need to get behind this!!Marlin are an important fish to us here at the NZ Sport Fishing Council and we are certain that many of you feel the same.
We’ve been lucky in New Zealand, we have a world-class marlin fishery that has been cranking for over 100 years. Here in NZ, marlin are recognised as a recreational-only species, and for more than 30 years the NZSFC has worked hard to maintain this status.
These protections are now at stake. Officials are calling the regulations that designate marlin as a recreational-only species “redundant” and are proposing to permit commercial operators to land and sell marlin that arrive to the boat dead.
We know exactly where this could lead. When broadbill swordfish were allowed to be sold as dead bycatch in the nineties, reported landings climbed, and a de facto target fishery followed. Within a decade, broadbill were introduced into the Quota Management System. If marlin follow the same path, it risks reshaping our marlin fishery and undermining the coastal communities that have long depended on a world-class gamefish fishery.
We need to work hard to keep our marlin as a recreational-only fishery. Submit by 28 November at legasea.co.nz/marlin ... See MoreSee Less
We couldn’t be prouder seeing two of our NorthCape Custom Boats lined up in front of the shed, the 43 and 51 out for their final summer touches.
Inside the sheds the teams are hard at work with the NorthCape 43, 49, and 51 currently under construction, and the NorthCape 58 well into the design phase. We are privileged to be working with the most incredible clients from all over the world who share our passon for performance and quality.
Every one of these boats has a piece of our hearts in it. These composite high-end custom rigs are built to outlive us, our kids and our grandkids!
